Coffee Shop Near Me: My Relationship with Coffee

Lots of my friends have been recommending this new K-drama called Café Minamdang. The last episode aired in August 2022 (this means it's ready for my usual binge-watch).

I checked out the plot. True enough, the story includes a café called Minamdang as the main setting. If you've watched numerous Korean dramas, you'll know that coffee shops are popular in Korea.

And if you've binged a lot of these shows, there might come a time when you crave a cup of coffee made handmade by baristas in a cozy cafe.

I'm fortunate enough to live in the same city as one of my favorite specialty coffee makers, 0402 Coffee Philippines. You can pinpoint a few good coffee shops on the Bulacan map and pretty sure this shop will pop up in your search.

I was glad to have visited the place when it opened in August 2021.

When I smell coffee near me, the aroma alone makes me feel relaxed. My brother once bought coffee beans from a commercial coffee chain. I used to manually grind them and it was nowhere near as good as a cup made by an actual barista.

So we just order.

Let me make a disclaimer that I am no expert in coffee. I really love the smell, though.

First real experience with coffee

Would you believe that I did not have a proper (hot) cup of coffee until I was in college? I have ordered from Starbucks before and, just like any teenager, I would go for a frappe. With extra cream. Either strawberry or Java Chip Frappuccino.

One time, my family went to a coffee shop in Quezon City. Since I did not know what to order, I just got the house blend black coffee. And as they say, once you go black, you can never go back.

My love for black coffee and Americano is here.

Later College Years

In my senior year in college, I still drink a lot of coffee. But all-nighters require something stronger than a cup of coffee. That's where I started drinking energy drinks like Cobra and Monster.

I'm glad that phase was over because the caffeine crash from those two drinks was horrible.

After that, I came back to being a casual coffee drinker. And then I fell in love with tea, but that's s story for another time.

It took me a while to understand that there are many types of coffee. But once I go to a cafe, I order the house-brewed coffee. Even my first order from 0402 Coffee Ph was their Signature Black.

If I need more kicks to stay awake, I get an Americano.

If it's a hot day, I get an iced Americano.

If it's a hot day and I'm feeling kinda sweet, a cold brew.

I know my coffee taste is limited. So I am calling on my friends who love coffee (aka coffee runs in their bloodstreams--there are many), to take me out on a date. Maybe we can go to a coffee shop in BGC when I visit our Sun Life head office or basically anywhere as long as it's safe to go!

Or maybe we can order from one of the good specialty coffee shops in the Bulacan region like 0402 Coffee Ph.

OR BETTER YET, if you're looking for a way how to divide your time and multiple your streams of income, maybe you can open a coffee shop of your own!

0402 Coffee Ph is open for franchise! You can read more about it here.

Please send them a message to know more about the slots and availability.

If you have passion and ideas on how to manage a café, maybe this is for you!

Here is some of the info from their post.

  • No royalty fee (for the 1st six months)

  • No renewal fee

  • Co-ownership Program available (locations upon inquiry)

  • 2 strong brands in one coffee franchise.

We order drinks and cakes from both of their brands, too!

Don't miss it!
